Learning

I'm seeing my first clients in June this year.
I just graduated from a Bachelor of Psychology degree in 2005.
Today's workshop training introduced specific skills and details
about working with Clients in the Sydney University Psychology
Clinic. Since beginning my Doctorate degree, I have been given
the opportunity to gain clinical experience and my clinical
placement workshop was one of the first steps towards this.
I have always had a strong interest in science. I completed
biology, chemistry and maths for the HSC. Coming out of school,
I knew I wanted to do a science based degree. However, I have
always been more interested in the application of science
rather than science in it's pure form. Hence why I chose a
psychology degree.
Interest in science without the technicalities = psychology
degree
Through my undergraduate degree, I sustained extensive theoretical
knowledge about psychology and mental health. However, I had
received limited practical experience. Given that I aspire
to be a practicing clinical psychologist, I am very eager
to gain experience in a clinical setting.
After completing my undergraduate psychology degree, I had
gained substantial knowledge about many different subject
areas. Consequently, this strengthened my want to pursue the
career in a more practical setting. Hence, I have just begun
the 1st year of my 3-year Doctorate of Clinical Psychology/Masters
of Science. |
