Now
That's Food For Thought!

Did
you know that your taste buds change after the first hour
of flight? If you wish to combine your love for food and traveling
then this just might be the answer for you.
I did not know what I wanted to
do at school. The one thing that I was very sure of was that
I am and always have been obsessed with
food. Any aspect of life involving food is very exciting
to me.
DO YOU LOVE EATING? BECOME A FOOD TECHNOLOGIST!
I decided to do a food science course at
university at the age of 17. Obviously, it was very
scientific in nature, and I did question
whether if it was going to lead me anywhere.
I am glad to say that it has.
As a Food Scientist, I have had the opportunity to travel
the globe, gain experience in different
food companies, get to work with different types of
foods, and be involved in all aspects of the food
industry. Some of the roles that I have been in are in Food
Production Management, Technical Management,
Product Development, Marketing,
Food Consultancy and Food Buying.
MATERNITY LEAVE? IT CAN WAIT!
I am currently seven and a half months pregnant and am struggling
to have a typical day. A normal day depends on the weather,
my hormones, and how the baby behaves. I am currently working
part–time in a gourmet food distribution company based in
Sydney, Australia.
Of all the jobs that I have held in the past 13 years, this
would have to be the least stressful for me. This suits me
just fine; as anyone who has been pregnant would know, we
have enough to deal with.
Throughout all this, my love of food
never wanes. I still read food /cook books as people
read fiction books and I am always interested to know what
is new and innovative in the food world.
